Spindle

Spindle, a jet-black community cat from the West Paris TNR Program, returned to colony after recovery

Spindle is a jet-black West Paris TNR community cat with a slow blink and a worried brow. He came in with a small injury that needed time to heal, but he worked through it and was returned to the West Paris colony once cleared. He is doing well.

Managing injured community cats is one of the more complex parts of TNR work. The ASPCA recommends that injured community cats be assessed by a veterinarian before any return decision is made, and that caretakers monitor recovering cats closely after return. That is exactly the approach taken with Spindle.

Spindle came to us through the West Paris TNR Program. For more on stray cat law in Maine, see the Stray Cat Law in Maine post.
