Soot is a glossy black West Paris TNR community cat with bright yellow eyes and a gaze that means business. He is lean and strong. He is also one of the boldest in the colony. He went through the TNR process and was returned to the West Paris colony without issue. He is doing well.
Bold, confident cats like Soot are often the most visible members of a colony. They are the easiest to trap because they are not as avoidant as more feral individuals. The Humane Society of the United States notes that consistent trapping rounds over time reach even the most wary colony members as trust with caretakers builds. Soot did not need much convincing.
Soot came to us through the West Paris TNR Program. For more on stray cat law in Maine, see the Stray Cat Law in Maine post.
