Shadowspool is a long-haired tabby West Paris TNR community cat. Her deep amber eyes and a stare could stop time. Part haunted, part regal, she was trapped, neutered, and returned to the West Paris colony where she is doing well.
Long-haired cats in outdoor colonies face unique challenges during Maine winters, particularly with matting and cold exposure. Best Friends Animal Society suggests that colony caretakers offer insulated winter shelters. They should monitor long-haired cats more closely after snowfall. Shadowspool made it through and is holding her own.
