Cotton

Cotton, a soft black community cat from the West Paris TNR Program, returned to colony

Cotton is a wide-eyed, expressive West Paris TNR community cat with a soft black coat and a cautious posture. All heart wrapped in hesitation. He was trapped, neutered, and returned to the West Paris colony where he is doing well.

Cats with cautious, sensitive temperaments like Cotton often do best when returned to familiar territory. They should not be moved through a shelter environment. Alley Cat Allies has documented extensively. Community cats returned to known territory after TNR acclimate faster. They show less stress than those relocated to unfamiliar areas. Cotton went home where he belonged.

Cotton came to us through the West Paris TNR Program. For more on stray cat law in Maine, see the Stray Cat Law in Maine post.
